  • Is this for kids or adults?
    The Scavenger Hunt is for all ages! There are tasks for all ages and abilities. Some will challenge you physically, while others require you to be creative.
  • What is this fundraiser for?
    The Baddeck Boardwalk is a public space that allows everyone to access the waterfront. Waterfront Baddeck and the Village of Baddeck are working with the public to design a space that meets the needs of today's Baddeck.
  • Can I just come to see the band?
    We hope that you'll participate in the fun of the Baddeck Quest Scavenger Hunt, even just to collect one or two tokens. But you are welcome to come see the concert and take part in the fun.
  • Where should I park?
    There is very limited parking on the waterfront. Please park on Chebucto Street or in public parking lots.
  • Do I need a car to participate?
    No! Several of the task locations are within a short walk of the Wharf. All locations are within 1.7 km of the Wharf, and many are closer.
  • Do I need to be able to run/lift heavy objects/throw things?
    No! There are several non-physical tasks to enjoy.
  • Is there alcohol at this event?
    No, this is a family-friendly, all ages event. Please feel free to enjoy an adult beverage at one of Baddeck's many restaurants after the event; they'll be happy to see you!
  • Are there bathrooms?
    Yes, Baddeck's public restrooms will be open during the event.
  • Can I add people to my team after I register?
    Yes, up to a maximum of 5 people per team. You can add team members on the day of the event by paying at the event.
  • How old do children need to be to play?
    If a child is old enough to participate in the activities, please enter them as team members. We are planning to have an event especially for small children to enjoy.
  • Can we enter teams that are only composed of children?
    The safety of children is crucial to the success of this event. Teams will not be accompanied when moving between locations. We recommend that all teams include an adult and/or a licensed driver.
  • Can I enter a team of 1 or 2 instead of 5?
    Sure! Teams can have any number of people between 1 and 5. If you are team of 1 and win a prize for 5 people, you can invite others or enjoy the prize by yourself.
  • How many tasks do I need to complete to win?
    You only need to earn one token to enter to win a prize, but the more you complete, the more chances you have to win.
  • Do I need to act silly or embarrass myself in public to win?
    No! But if that's your jam, you are welcome.
  • Will we be required to collect or buy items for the scavenger hunt?
    No, teams will earn tokens by performing tasks.
  • Why is there a maximum team size of 5?
    Prizes are for teams of 5 or fewer.
  • Do I need to name everyone on my team?
    No. Any registered player is allowed to play on any team. Non-registered players will not be allowed to participate at task stops. Players may register on the day of the event.
